Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse /Day Surgery assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation, and other health care members. He/She follows the policies and procedures of HCA.. The Registered Nurse interacts with other departments, patients/families, physicians, clergy, nurses, students, and outside agencies. He/She supervises one to four LPN’s, PCA/CNA and US.

In This Role You Will:

You will assess, plan, intervene and evaluate the care of Pre-Op and Phase II Recovery patients.
You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
You will maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders.

What qualifications you will need:

Current Florida license as Registered Nurse or Recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions) Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date -Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
One-year acute care experience required Outpatient Surgery experience preferred One- year pre-op experience required HCA Florida Highlands Hospital is a 126-bed acute hospital.
