Responsibilities Attends medical appointments with clients. Transcribes new orders from consulting appointment and verifies with Medical Director. Transcribes new orders onto MAR/TAR, fax/call orders to pharmacy. Gives report to floor nurse regarding new orders received on appointment or any changes made that day. Schedules follow-up appointments, annual appointments (dental cleaning, dentist visits, annual in-house eye exams, podiatry visits, psych appointments) as well as specialty consultants that vary with each client. Requests results of diagnostics and follows up post appointment Rounds with physician on his weekly visit, as well as carrying out all new orders received that day (transcribing orders, faxing orders to pharmacy) Oversees annual physicals are completed each month Schedules labs pertaining to outside appointments; draws up lab requisition, schedules a date and time for the lab draw to take place and transcribes onto MAR Infection control rounds monthly In the event of a call off, works the floor in place of the absent nurse. Complies with nursing policies and procedures to ensure nursing standards are met. Promotes optimal nursing interventions. Administers medications and treatments per physician’s orders and in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Performs nursing evaluation of persons served health status daily. Monitors persons served for seizures, medication side effects, signs and symptoms of illness, and provides necessary nursing interventions. Completes all required documentation including but not limited to assessments, nurse’s notes, tracking forms, incident reports, monthly/quarterly reports, etc., along with quality assurance reviews, filing, and purging medical files. Demonstrates ability to administer IV medications and IV solutions as ordered by physician and within appropriate nursing regulations. Management reserves the right to revise the job or to request that other or different tasks be performed as assigned. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing School for Registered Nurses/Licensed Practical Nurses. Current unrestricted license as Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurses in the state of Florida Current valid Florida Driver License in good standing Previous working knowledge of various medical equipment. Effectively communicate at all levels, write and speak English using acceptable grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Accurately complete nursing documentation. Use Electronic Medical Record system. Use functional math, analyze and assess data, and determine appropriate actions. Organize and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
