Job Summary
Master’s-prepared Registered Nurse who is expert in a defined area of knowledge and practices in the specialized clinical area of diabetes education and management. The nurse specialists practice involves the components of expert practitioner, educator, consultant, researcher and clinical leader. The nurse specialist is responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the values of Tampa General Healthcare and the principles of quality improvement.
Qualifications
Qualifications Master of Science in Nursing or related health field required.
A terminal degree – Professional Doctorate or Ph.D. is preferred.
Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse by the State of Florida.
Current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES)
[formerly CDE] from a nationally recognized body as determined by the Board of Nursing.
MSN and CDCES a plus
