Days The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Waterman – 1000 WATERMAN WAY, Tavares, 32778 The role you’ll contribute: The Nursing Professional Development (NPD) Practitioner functions as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for inquiry, advocate for NPD specialty and partner for practice transitions as they guide the learner toward desired outcomes. The NPD Practitioner continuously uses environmental scanning to intentionally assess opportunities and challenges within and externally to the organization, and identifies opportunities based on global and national healthcare trends, legislative changes, needs of collaborative partners, educational gaps, emerging technologies, and the clinical staff member’s desire for growth. The NPD Practitioner actively interacts with learners to contribute to nursing professional development processes and ensures the achievement of measurable outcomes, influences professional role competence and growth of learners in a variety of settings. The principal duties and job responsibilities are based on the Standards of the Association of Nursing Professional Development. The NPD Practitioner supports learners in interprofessional practice and learning environments to facilitate continuous development and learning for the healthcare team. + Creates, plans, implements, and coordinates orientation for individuals new to the nursing unit/department using the NPD standards of practice including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation with the NPD Practice model using inputs, throughputs, and outcomes to ensure a systematic approach to onboarding orientation. + Adjusts implementation strategies as needed based on the learner’s developmental level, learning needs, readiness, ability to learn, language, and cultural preferences. + Engage learners in planned educational activities through effective facilitation skills.
