Through the years, DISC Village has become recognized as a leader in the state for initiating, managing and coordinating substance abuse prevention/intervention, family welfare and delinquency programs in Leon County and North Florida.

Residential Services:

DISC Village, Inc. offers a 200-acre campus in a quiet, rustic setting. This campus houses a variety of residential treatment facilities for adult males and females, including some with infants. The focus is on clinical treatment, relapse prevention, and development of an aftercare plan.

Essential Responsibilities:

Ensure all medication-dispensing staff are trained in proper medication dispensation, side effects of medications, and provide remedial training as needed. Complete the Medication Administration Record (MAR) forms for new and existing clients with continuing medication. Coordinate medical appointments with the Transportation Coordinator. Responsible for medical screening of individuals referred for residential services and gathering necessary medical information. Monitor clients who are ill and make appropriate medical recommendations. Conduct daily physical checks on the infants in the Mother’s in Sobriety program. May work varying shifts as needed to ensure proper provisions of medical services and training of staff. Participate in weekly client staffing.

Qualifications:

Must be licensed by the State of Florida as a nurse (LPN/RN, etc). Prior experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues is preferred. Strong communication skills. Good time management and organization. Problem-solving skills. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
