Job Title:
RN Med Surg Job Description The Registered Nurse is responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care. This role involves health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm, as well as promoting wellness, maintaining health, and preventing illness. The nurse will administer medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a licensed practitioner. Responsibilities + Observe and assess patients to evaluate their condition and needs. + Develop and implement nursing care plans. + Administer medications and treatments as prescribed. + Provide health teaching and counseling to patients. + Promote wellness and maintenance of health. + Perform evaluations of care and adjust as necessary. Essential Skills + Recent acute care Med-Surg experience within the last year or two. + 3+ years of experience in a Med/Tele + Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred. + Current Florida State Registered Nurse license or appropriate compact licensure. + Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certifications. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Previous experience in an acute care setting. + Ability to lift 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs. + Critical thinking and service excellence. + Good interpersonal communication skills. + Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. + PC skills. Work Environment Night shifts only, with rotating weekends.
