Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant ICU with Step Down Unit (1099 Contract) Bradenton, FL Intensive Care Unit /
Step Down Unit Position Summary:
We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in our Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Step-Down Unit, making a meaningful impact on the lives of critically ill patients. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of patients in the ICU and Step-Down Unit, including comprehensive history-taking and physical examinations. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on clinical guidelines and patient needs. Perform essential diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including intubation, central line placement, and medication management. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care and achieve optimal patient outcomes. Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans and effectively communicating with the healthcare team and families. Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, and discharge plans. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records per institutional policies. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to training and education programs for staff.
Qualifications:
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Florida. Certification as an Adult or Family Nurse Practitioner (ACNP or FNP) or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification. Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to manage complex patient situations effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. ACLS and BLS certification required. EMR Cerner Procedures are required
Work Schedule:
Full-Time Day Shift:
7 on, 7 off, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
Full-Time Night Shift:
10 shifts per month from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Compensation:
This is a 1099 contract position, and compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
