Manatee MemorialHospital also offers a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit forbabies with special needs. Reports to the Director of ICU and isunder the general supervision of the cardiothoracic surgeons, theattending Physician of Record. The nurse practitioner isresponsible for the development and evaluation of treatment plansfor inpatients. The Nurse Practitioner assists in the care andmanagement of CV surgery patients to include, but not limited to:admission history and physical, ongoing assessment, follow up, andintervention, with coordination of care for the cardiac inpatientpopulation. All essential functions performed in this positionreflect the age specific needs of the patient. Throughcollaborative agreements with all CV physicians, primaryresponsibilities include ordering, conducting, interpretingdiagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacologicalagents and non-pharmacologic therapies. The nurse practitioner willprovide routine post procedure care to include but not limited toaccess site care, wound care, suture removal, coordinating andconducting pre-admission history and physical on all CV surgerypatients and structural heart consults. This includes CABG, AVR,MVR, TEER, TAVR, LAAO and other surgical therapies. Activelycontributes to the mission and success of the CV Surgical Centerthrough various activities. Graduate from an ANA accredited School of Nursing.
