Job Summary:

The OHN builds and maintains a safe environment by developing and executing programs to improve the company’s strategies. The OHN focuses on health and safety and illness and injury prevention from work and non-work related hazards, understanding the importance of early intervention in the workplace with the objective of managing escalating company workers compensation and healthcare costs while increasing employee productivity. The OHN makes a positive impact on the lives of employees by providing them with the care and support they need to be successful at work. This role reports to the Director of Human Resources.

Essential Job Functions:

Initial medical assessments of employees seen for on-the-job injuries, identifying those cases which meet recordability criteria under the OSHA Act and regulations, and documenting such cases on the appropriate forms in accordance with OSHA and AAR policies. Hold and maintain all licenses or certifications required to comply with and abide by all applicable laws and regulations including, but not limited to, all provisions set forth in the Occupational Safety and Health Act Support day-to-day operational concerns related to medical issues and occupational health injuries including injury care management, medical surveillance, and fitness for duty, 2nd and 3rd medical opinions, and return to work Conduct workplace assessments and exposure analyses Plan and implement health promotion strategies for both group and individual health education Make referrals, as deemed necessary, to the employee assistance program Serve as a liaison to area physicians, therapists, providers, and hospitals Coordinate annual and repeat audio testing and inspector vision exams Manage Safety Glasses Program Nurse Case Management for Workers Compensation Claims including monitoring all active claims to assess progress/response to treatment, prevent lapses or delays in treatment, obtain regular updates on work status and facilitate injured/ill workers return to work. Identify legal, labor, and regulatory implications related to case management Return to Work Programs Job Demand Assessments Wellness Program Development and Sustainability Maintain on-site wellness facility Reasonable Suspicion Testing and Training Drug and alcohol Self Disclosure Interactive ADA to recommend Reasonable Accommodation(s) Conducts CPR, AED, Organize and hold on-site health and wellness fairs Maintains on-site and off-site tracker of tasks performed and time associated with each task All other duties as assigned

Associates of Nursing Registered Nurse Certification In-depth understanding of federal and state health regulations that impact the health care industry as well as AAR.

Travel:

Yearly travel to off-site locations to conduct requested training(s), i.e., CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor/First Responder /Reasonable Suspicion-Probable Cause Drug & Alcohol and administer flu vaccines as requested. Oversight of workers compensation claims.
