201 North Lakemont Avenue Winter, Park Florida 32792 The community you’ll be caring for: AdventHealth Winter Park Winter Park Memorial Hospital has continuously served the residents of Winter Park and its surrounding communities for more than 50 years Chartered in 1951, the hospital has grown from the visionary efforts of a handful of Winter Park residents and community leaders, to a 307-bed acute care facility that is a model of community health and wellness Over the years the hospital has continually expanded to meet the needs of the community, adding an upscale obstetrics and Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at The Dr. P. Phillips Baby Place, cancer care at the AdventHealth Cancer Institute, Winter Park, and state-of-the-art surgery, recovery and rehabilitation at the AdventHealth Orthopedic Institute The role you’ll contribute: The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Radiation Oncology Department is responsible for providing and supervising both direct and indirect total nursing care to age-specific groups, utilizing the nursing process which includes assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating. This role requires a cancer-specific knowledge base and clinical expertise in cancer care, particularly in administering nursing care to patients receiving Radiation Therapy. The RN operates under the direction of the physician and/or department manager in compliance with established standards, protocols, and the goals and objectives of the healthcare facility. This position adheres to the Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies, ensuring adherence to Radiation Oncology Standards of Procedures/Work Instructions. The RN actively participates in providing outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all, demonstrating medical-surgical nursing skills alongside their specialized knowledge in oncology care. The value you’ll bring to the team: Performs properly, legibly documents and reports all procedures and assessments in accordance with department policy. Obtains or delegates the obtaining of a nursing history. Evaluates for age-appropriate behavior motor skills and physiological norms of the patient. Completes the admission assessment, including pain screening. Completes all follow-up assessments and evaluations. Assesses for signs of abuse or neglect. Evaluates patients’ developmental level, identifies increased physical/emotional dependency needs and evaluates availability of support system consistent with the age of the patient served. Performs treatments and administers medications, identifies needs and plan of care, functions appropriately in clinical emergencies, evaluates effectiveness of interventions, interprets and verifies physician orders correctly, investigates questionable situations. Takes clinical and operational direction from the Outpatient Nurse Manager. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed : Associate’s of Nursing RN
