Nursing Full Job Description Overview:

Pay range: $65k – 81k based on experience Use your nursing skills to make a difference. Hospice nurses provide end of life care to help ensure the comfort and quality of life for their patients. They primarily work in collaborative, team-driven environments that require frequent communication with their patients, families and other caregivers. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, patient and calm. Hospice nurses are caring and kind individuals who possess a special hospice heart who can help our patients celebrate the rest of their life’s journey.

Responsibilities:

Hours of operation: 8:30am – 5pm Provides Alzheimer’s and dementia education, including the Virtual Dementia Tour® and Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care® to the medical community, the community at large, skilled and assisted living facilities, faith-based communities, first responders and caregivers.

Qualifications:
Education/Regulatory Requirements:

Minimum of A.A. in nursing, with BSN, preferred. Florida RN license in good standing Current Basic Life Support Certification. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license, maintain current auto insurance coverage and have access to a reliable automobile.

Skills:

2-4 years of medical/surgical, oncology experience and prior Hospice experience, preferred. Ability to work unsupervised in the field, exercising discretion and independent judgment. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations, as well as document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers, patients/families or referral sources. Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to demonstrate essential usage. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Professional Requirements:

Ability to operate a facsimile, copy machine, computers or other common office machines with working knowledge of software appropriate to position.

Language Skills:

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
