Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our nursing department. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned RN leader with a strong background in skilled nursing or long-term care and a proven ability to manage clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote excellence in resident care.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for all nursing services. Ensure high standards of care and regulatory compliance with CMS, state, and federal guidelines. Oversee hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of nursing staff. Coordinate and lead clinical audits, surveys, and performance improvement initiatives (QAPI). Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal resident outcomes. Manage department staffing, scheduling, and budget within established parameters. Serve as a clinical resource for staff and communicate regularly with residents and families. Report key performance indicators and clinical updates to the Regional Director of Nursing.
Qualifications:
Current RN license in Florida; BSN required, MSN or related graduate degree preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of nursing management experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar setting in Florida . Deep understanding of long-term care regulations, MDS, infection control, and QAPI. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage teams, implement clinical best practices, and improve care quality.
