Position SummaryThe Nurse Extern, is currently enrolled in aSchool of Nursing and has successfully completed a Nursingfundamentals course. When on duty, s/he assists patients withactivities of daily living and provides basic patient care designedto meet the physical, emotional and social needs of the patient.
The Nurse Extern may also be cross-trained to perform unitsecretary clerical duties. The nurse Extern may perform nursingpractice interventions learned within his/her clinical training andsuccessfully validated by a RN staff member.

Minimum:
Successful completion of a nursingfundamentals class within an accredited school of NursingProgram.
