The Registered Nurse will work to promote health equity and ensure that activities/services are aligned with the SPFC’s vision, mission, programs, and values to promote health and access for all. Provides and coordinates direct nursing services and procedures to patients. Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient quality of life through competent medical intervention. Ensures all documentation is in compliance with professional and legal standards. Supervisory Responsibilities None Position Responsibilities Assist in the expansion of current practices and implement new strategies to advance clinical outcomes. Focus on providing patients with a positive experience and identify areas for improvement. Identify areas in workflow processes that improve customer service practices in all areas within the clinic utilizing problem-solving techniques. Triage phone calls, answer emails, and phone inquiries for needed medical services. Communicate with other teams as needed. Configure methods to expedite responses to client issues including medication refills. Create a positive, caring, and supportive environment for staff, volunteers, and patients. Apply principles of health promotion and disease prevention. Assist with maintaining current medication lists by reviewing medications with patients during intake and other appropriate times. Distribute medications that arrive through Prescription Health Program. Review Electronic Medical Records (EMR), verify the prescription information, and ensure no changes have been made to current orders. Discuss medications with the patient to foster further compliance, as appropriate. Coordinate nursing functions and daily tasks related to patient care (intake-testing-discharge). Continually monitor function of clinic and educate staff/volunteers to changes needed to address the needs of our clients. Organize and maintain clinical care area in compliance with regulatory standards. Assist with integration of proposed interventions to meet current evidenced best practices. Ensure that exam rooms and nurses’ stations are stocked, orderly, and sanitized after each clinic. Monitor levels of nursing supplies, anticipate needs based on clinic schedule, and assist with ordering supplies. Monitor laboratory data. Input records to EHR to track and generate reports. Maintain confidentiality regarding patient and/or family in accordance with established protocols. Promote SPFC’s mission, values, and follow its policies and procedures. Manage Lab Draw Clinic and draw labs as needed. Help organize and train volunteer nurses. Anticipate needs of providers based on clinic schedule and specialty. Additional duties as assigned. Minimum of 3 years of nursing or paramedic experience with adult patients. Understand the complexities of medically underserved patients. Knowledge of eCW is preferred, EHR experience required. Bilingual in Spanish & English is preferred. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at time.
