Palm-Harbor Role:

The Staff Nurse (LPN or RN) supervises personal care cases when it requires a higher level of expertise than the regular staff can accommodate. The Staff Nurse also provides training for staff, Caregivers, and Clients on a regular schedule and when called to do so. This is an excellent opportunity for an LPN or RN Nurse (in FL state) who wants to work a very flexible, part-time schedule. Retired/Semi-retired nurses are also encouraged to apply. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Staff development, home care or home health experience preferred. CPR Instructor-Certified helpful but not required. License clear of infractions required. Experience in geriatrics, cardiac, pulmonary, physical, neurological and/or mental diseases a plus. Conveys professionalism with Homewatch CareGivers of Palm Harbor clients, their families and referral sources Must maintain skills and learning on an ongoing basis, as well as adhering to Homewatch CareGivers of Palm Harbor, local, state and federal policies Has experience in managing other heath care professionals Must be able to function with minimal supervision, multi-task, problem solve and make decisions on a timely basis Must have knowledge and be able to train, supervise and validate skills required of caregiving staff Must pass all background screening Major Responsibilities The Staff Nurse manages client care services, provides supervision and training for home care service staff, and is responsible for: Providing hands-on training to caregivers in as needed for specific clients Meets with new and prospective clients and performs an assessment of service needs Creates a Care Plan for all new clients after assessment and updates Care Plans as needed, and conducts a QA visit every 90 days Assists staff, caregivers, and clients with problem-solving related to Homewatch CareGivers of Palm Harbor services. Any other duty requested to maintain the operations of the business including caregiving duties Other Qualifications Able to communicate effectively. Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
