Job Description
Oncology Clinical Research Nurse The Oncology Clinical Research Nurse plans, coordinates, evaluates, and performs nursing care for research participants, collecting data for assigned projects. They follow study protocols, communicate with Principal Investigators (PI), Sub-Investigators (Sub-I), Clinical Research Lead, and support staff, advocating for patients while adhering to FDA regulations and ICH/GCP guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe care, respecting participant dignity. Maintain clinical competencies (physical assessment, phlebotomy, IV insertion). Follow Universal Precautions and HIPAA regulations. Maintain a clean clinical space, perform set-up and turnover procedures. Participate in training programs to maintain licensure. Communicate effectively with healthcare team, patients, investigators, sponsors, and administration. Review informed consent documents with study candidates/legal representatives. Manage multiple clinical trial protocols, perform accurate documentation. Handle records, study medication, and test articles securely. Promote PI oversight, report deviations and issues. Coordinate support staff, lab technicians, and assistants.
Skills & Qualifications:
MUST have 3 years of Oncology Nursing experience MUST have experience creating care plans Active State of Florida Registered Nurse license Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Active BLS CPR certification Demonstrated skills in clinical competencies including physical assessment, phlebotomy, IV insertion, and administration of investigational drugs
