This is a fantastic opportunity to use your critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills to triage patients both domestically and internationally. Falck Global Assistance ensures that our customers are always in safe hands, wherever and whenever they travel 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The RN will be responsible for providing a myriad of medical support services to internal and external members / clients, assist with the supervision of medical case management, the development of medical and case management knowledge of the Assistance Coordinators (AC), and the handling of medical transportation cases.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Field calls from members who request medical triage to determine the appropriate level of care for their symptoms. Contact medical personnel and facilities involved in the care of members to gather information on members’ medical condition. Work closely with Assistance Coordinators “AC” to ensure timely and appropriate coordination of patient medical care and transportation. Participate in Quality Management Review (QMR) meetings. Serve as a liaison with Client’s pre-cert, utilization review and / or medical department relaying medical updates and sharing expertise for care necessary for their members. Serve as a point person for transports as a link to the AC’s ensuring that the transport arrangements meet medical requirements of the member. Assist with transports during hours when transport coordinators are not available. Assist with medical translations, medical report interpretation, claims review and coverage decisions. Conduct basic internal awareness sessions for staff on basic medical terminology, how to recognize a potential evacuation, medical transports, etc. Oversee the quality of medical information submitted to external clients. Maintain current knowledge base and updated medical knowledge. Document all applicable information into appropriate charting systems.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing from any US state. Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in an emergency department or ICU plus 1 year of medical case management (preferred). Compact and unrestricted Nursing License is essential. Availability for shift rotation (day, night, weekend) is essential. Weekend and Holiday coverage is required.
