The role you’ll contribute:
The Director of Oncology Services is directly responsible for the on-site and supervising cancer program operations across the East Florida Division at assigned campus. This includes key clinical support/financial programs, medical, radiation, surgical oncology, and infusion. The Director is responsible for assisting the strategy, development, operational oversight, and performance of outpatient cancer service lines to integrate care and drive a value-based model fully. This may include oversight and/or collaboration of practice administrators, care coordination, research, education, inpatient provider teams, and ancillary support teams as needed to drive performance across the care continuum effectively. Advises/manages all service areas that impact patient care for the cancer patient population. This position provides leadership and subject matter expertise for the cancer service line, resulting in high-quality outcomes and compelling performance that drive state and national reputation and rankings. Plans, directs, coordinates, and serves as the administrative liaison for service line activities, projects, and programs, including marketing, philanthropy, and other oncology activities. The Director works with the Medical Directors, the Oncology Service Line Administrator of the oncology service line, and campus leadership.

Radiation services and cancer support services:
Responsible for developing and overseeing the Radiation Oncology Program, working collaboratively with the East Region with a standardized approach.
Provide oversight of the Oncology Office Coordinators, Oncology Financial Coordinators, Radiation Oncology Nursing, Radiation Oncology Manager and Therapists, Genetic Counseling, Oncology Social Workers, Oncology Navigation, and Physician Office Coordinators.
Develop and provide leadership to all the CQI Programs.
Develop and maintain accountabilities and metrics established for nurse navigators to promote multidisciplinary care programs.
Initiates physician communications as needed.
Oversees the hiring process for respective departments. Completes development conversations timely and is involved in team member counseling, coaching and termination per policy. Provides orientation for new team members and ensures compliance with department policy and procedure. Monitors and approves time and attendance. Maintains high levels of engagement and job performance by providing recognition and opportunities for learning. Ability to appropriately handle stress and interact with others.
Establishes and maintains positive and open communication (verbal and written) and relationships with referring physicians, pulmonologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and medical oncologists to provide quality care to patients with disease-specific health concerns.
Develop and revise patient and staff cancer-related educational materials. Provides staff and community education as required.

Quality Assurance :

Knowledge of clinical practices and processes, legal and regulatory requirements and mandates, and the ability to gather and evaluate data and outcome results for programmatic development. Serves as subject matter expert for the oncology based local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies, as well as Cancer Institute accreditation requirements (such as CoC, ACR. NAPBC). Responsible for leading routine readiness rounding in clinical areas to identify opportunity and ensure readiness for site visits.

Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility :

Develops and maintains annual budgets for the organization and performs periodic cost and productivity analyses. Works closely with campus and physician leadership to improve value-based care through improvement of clinical delivery of services, appropriate technology and capital investments, cost structure, bundles and other payment/value-based care models.

Strategic Leadership :

Collaborate with senior management and Oncology Service Line Administrator to align regional oncology goals with the organization’s mission and objectives. Execute strategic plans to enhance oncology services’ overall quality and efficiency.

Community Relations Responsibility :

Engages in community events on behalf of AdventHealth. Developing strategies to address specialty care needs of the community based on Community Health Needs Assessment.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare
Five (5) years of Oncology experience
Five (5) years of demonstrated management experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Must have knowledge of The Joint Commission, Commission on Cancer and NQMBC requirements and local, state and federal regulations.
Must have knowledge on NCCN, AJCC and other standard oncology clinical management.
Must be familiar with all aspects of oncology to supervise and organize workflow and throughput.
Preferred qualifications:
Master’s degree in Healthcare or Business
Two (2) years of Director level experience
Completion of a two-year associates’ degree in Radiation Therapy, or completion of an approved Radiation Therapy Program.
Licensed radiation therapist (RTT) with current State license
