Summer Camp Nurse 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Pierson, FL 32180 Camp Guaikinima is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Camp Nurse to join our team this summer. You’ll be the primary health professional on-site, responsible for attending to the medical and emotional needs of our campers and ensuring a safe, healthy camp environment. This role is perfect for a nurse who enjoys working with children, thrives in dynamic environments, and wants to make a lasting impact in a fun, outdoor setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the health and well-being of all campers and staff. Respond to and treat minor injuries, illnesses, and medical needs. Administer medications and manage health records in compliance with regulations. Monitor campers’ conditions and communicate with the Camp Director and/or Camp Mom as needed. Manage medical situations and assess whether they qualify as emergencies requiring care at the nearest hospital or urgent care center. In such cases, campers will be accompanied by our designated Camp Mom, not the Nurse. Supervise hygiene routines and dietary restrictions. Work closely with camp leadership and activity staff to ensure safety protocols are followed. Coordinate with housekeeping staff to maintain cleanliness in cabins and infirmary. Keep detailed records of all treatments, incidents, and medications administered.
Qualifications:
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) preferred (active license) Bilingual English/Spanish – Advanced fluency required Experience working with children or in a camp/school setting is a plus Ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and respond quickly to emergencies Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Compassionate, organized, and team-oriented Why Work With Us?
