Phoenix Cardiovascular Institute (PCI) is an independent interventional cardiology practice serving patients in the North Georgia and the Chattanooga, TN region. It is our mission to provide our patients with evidence-based treatment of their cardiovascular disease in a convenient outpatient setting. The nurse practitioner will provide high-quality patient care in collaboration with cardiologists, diagnosing and managing cardiovascular conditions in our outpatient clinic and the hospital setting. This role requires clinical expertise in cardiology, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Certification:
Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care (AGACNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with cardiology experience.
Licensure:
Active and unrestricted RN and NP license in Tennessee and Georgia.
Experience:
Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in cardiology, critical care, or internal medicine preferred.
Skills:
Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment skills; proficiency in electronic health records; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Certifications:
ACLS/BLS
certification required.
Specific Duties:
Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular assessments, including patient history, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretation. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with acute and chronic cardiovascular conditions, such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular disorders. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests, including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and lab work. Prescribe appropriate medications and therapies, ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines and patient safety standards. Provide education and counseling to patients and their families on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence. Assist in preoperative and postoperative cardiac patient management. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, primary care providers, nurses, and allied health professionals, to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in hospital rounds, patient follow-ups, and telehealth services as needed. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in electronic health records (EHR). Stay updated with the latest advancements in cardiology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
