ResponsibilitiesFunction as a consultant topatients, physicians and other members of the interdisciplinaryteam to assure provision of quality of palliative care includingpain and symptoms management as you collaborate with the patients’attending physician.

Assure appropriate evaluation , certification,and recertification of terminal prognosis at the time of admissionand at the end of each certification period.

Serve as the physicianmember of the Professional Advisory Committee.

Conduct educationalseminars, in-services and presentations to physicians, nurses, andother health care audiences to improve quality of patient care andpromote hospice services and increase access to patients.

Availablefor in-house or phone consultation for acute patient clinicalproblems that cannot be resolved through staff, directors andprimary or on-call physician and available for consultation orjoint visits in hospital or home when indicated.

QualificationsDoctor of m edicine or o steopathy degree from anaccredited medical school.

Board certification in hospice andpalliative care is preferred but not required. Experiencedphysicians with a passion for working with patients in hospice andpalliative care are welcome to apply.

Current and unencumberedlicense to practice specific to that state you are assigned towork.

Membership in good standing on the medical staff of at leastone contracted hospital.

Current CPR certification.

Valid d river’s license and reliable transportation and agency required liabilityinsurance to complete home visits.
