Required Qualifications:
One year ofrecent experience as a Stepdown RN Current Valid RN license incompliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification(AHA/ARC) Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
PreferredQualifications:
Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN)Certification NIHSS Certification Other certifications and licensesmay be required for this position
Summary:
A Stepdown RegisteredNurse provides care to patients who are transitioning fromintensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units.
These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursinginterventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs,administer medications and treatments, and collaborate withmultidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.
Essential Work Functions:
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms,vital signs, and other telemetry data to detect abnormalities andrespond appropriately Administers prescribed medications andtreatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, with afocus on cardiac care Prepares equipment and aids physician duringcardiac-related procedures and examinations Maintains awareness ofcomfort and safety needs of telemetry patients Observes patient,records significant conditions and reactions, and notifiessupervisor or physician of patient’s cardiac status and response tointerventions Responds to life-saving situations based upon nursingstandards, policies, procedures, and protocols specific to cardiacemergencies Documents nursing history and physical assessment forassigned telemetry patients Initiates patient education plansaccording to individualized needs, focusing on cardiac health, riskfactors, and lifestyle modifications Collaborates with theinterdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care for telemetrypatients Maintains confidentiality of patients and client Performsother duties as assigned within the scope of practice Adheres tohospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, andregulatory standards
Required Essential Skills:

- Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, moveequipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal Skills
