Job Description
Participates as a member of the multidisciplinary team in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive patient care services.
Experience
Must meet minimum requirements of base role Clinical Nurse 2 (or above) or Respiratory Therapist 2 (or above)
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Experience as an ECMO specialist in a neonatal, cardiac, and/or pediatric care setting
Experience in extracorporeal procedures in a neonatal, and /or pediatric care setting
Education
Associate’s degree from accredited academic clinical program
Completion of Children’s ECMO training course completed within 6 months of hire or transfer
Certification Summary
Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact or Georgia licensed Respiratory Care Professional and/or Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)
Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication, assessment, and patient care skills
Flexibility and ability to function in a high-stress environment
Job Responsibilities
Manages ongoing process of healthcare delivery to patients and parents, incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
Participates in educational process related to delivery of healthcare.
Collaborates with staff and medical team in identifying clinical issues for investigation and research and incorporates findings into department practice.
Provides educational activities and orientation designed to improve clinical competence.
Manages environment for delivery of care.
Promotes department, professional practice, and organizational goals.
Pursues educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and clinical expertise
