Description:

The Procedural Service Line Coordinator is responsible for the overall daily operations of assigned service line and communication with surgeons/proceduralists that fall under the service line specialty. Coordinates daily operations, staffing, and case flow and management of inventory, instruments, supplies and equipment for selected service line surgeons/proceduralists. Actively involved with assisting, education and ensuring nursing quality measures are achieved and maintained in the procedural environment. Proactively communicates with surgeons, proceduralists, vendors, supporting staff and leadership keeping everyone updated on and informed of case schedule and flow. Participates in the growth of the service line by improving efficiency and standards of the assigned service line and is responsible for fostering relations and building rapport with physicians to ensure continued utilization of the service line specialty. Functions as the communications link to physicians, office personnel, nursing staff, allied healthcare professionals and patients and their families. Responsible for maintaining quality standards for responsive service and professional documentation, maintaining current and accurate policies, procedures and practices. Support the Nurse Manager and other nursing leadership teams with administrative duties actively participate in preparation of regulatory agency reviews, identifying means of cost containment, coordinating unit staffing schedules, and ensuring communication regarding areas of concern to the Nurse Manager. Supports administrative decisions and facilitates daily operational issues with the staff.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing with a bachelor¿s degree in nursing; or Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate¿s degree in nursing with a minimum of 2 years of experience.

Experience:

2 years of experience in a procedural area and a minimum of 6 months of experience in that service line.

Licensure:

Must have a valid, active unencumbered Nursing license or temporary permit approved by the Georgia Licensing Board.

Certification:

BLS and ACLS certifications required, and applicable certification based on specialty may be required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

(Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.

Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
