New UnitThe RNClinical Nurse Critical Care is a proactive member of aninterdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed care givers whoensure that patients, families and significant others receiveindividualized high quality, safe patient care. They practice in aclinical environment that is administered by Nurse Managers andother leaders and is supported through the Wellstar SharedGovernance Model. The framework for practice is steered by theWellstar Professional Practice Model and evidence-based practiceand research. RN competencies are derived from these models andsupported by the Wellstar Values.
It is expected that all RNClinical Nurses Critical Care are licensed, knowledgeable anduphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the GeorgiaProfessional Nurse Practice Act and implements the Scope ofPractice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the AmericanNurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, it isexpected that the individual upholds the voice of the patient,system policies and procedures while supporting service excellencegoals.

- A.Performs the Nursing Process (assessment;diagnosis; identification of outcomes; planning; implementation andevaluation) in the performance of clinical care using evidence basepractice, uses analytical/critical thinking and ensuring that careis individualized; coordinating care through effective partnershipsrecognizing that caring is central to achieve optimal patient careoutcomes
- B.Provides relationship-based patient centered care thatis consistent with population specific characteristics (e.g. age,gender, disease, etc) in a manner that adapts service delivery toreflect an understanding of cultural diversity
- C.Always partnerswith the patient and significant others (as appropriate) using suchappropriate method for setting and purpose (e.g., bedside shiftreport; interdisciplinary rounds; just in time and planned patientteaching; keeping the patient and significant others updated andmaking the patients goals the focus of the plan of care.

Required Minimum Education:
- Diploma from an accreditednursing program Graduate of an accredited/approved school ofnursing Required andBachelor’s Degree Baccalaureate degree innursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursingPreferredRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
