Under supervision, the residents learn to assesspatient needs, implement care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
With experience, they integrate with the AACN Synergy Model forPatient Care to provide individualized care. Develops basic assessment skills and applies nursing knowledgeto patient care. Recognizes the impact of nursing interventions on patientoutcomes. Documents patient care accurately in electronic and physicalrecords. Identifies patient and family learning needs and utilizesresources accordingly. Demonstrates time management and delegation skills based on theSynergy Model. Functions as a Charge Nurse only in extenuatingcircumstances. Enhances listening abilities and recognizes obstacles toeffective communication. Seeks assistance when needed and collaborates with thehealthcare team. Ensures efficient use and accurate billing of medicalsupplies. Upholds and ensures the confidentiality of patientinformation. Identifies personal learning needs and engages in continuouseducation. Completes orientation, annual health assessments, andregulatory/safety training. Successfully completes the residency program and maintainsrequired performance standards.
Minimum Qualifications Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science inNursing (BSN) program New graduate with no experience.
