Job Summary And QualificationsThe Registered Nurse isresponsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluatingthe plan of care for a specific assigned group of patients. TheMedical City Decatur staff member can expect to care for adultpatients, including the older adult through geriatric, andpediatric patients from infants through adolescence.
As a RegisteredNurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality,patient-centered care in line with the requirements of thedepartment and the standards of practice for the relevant state andspecialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team,you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionatecare, following established nursing models such as “Assess,Perform, Teach, and Manage.” You will also act as an advocate forpatients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization’svision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patientexperience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in thisrole: Assess the patient’s condition during admission and eachscheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes inpatient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as orderedby the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timelydocumentation of care administration in the patient’s medicalrecord. – Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patientfor therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the eventof an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patientrequests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolvingthem. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’smedical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible sideeffects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding bytranslating complex medical terminology.
What qualifications youwill need: Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days ofemployment start date (RN) Registered Nurse- TX State License or compact licenserequired Bachelors Degree; ADN required Wound Care certification preferred Previous wound care experience preferred.
