GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES
The Registered Nurse (RN)provides individualized and specialized nursing care to patientswithin the endoscopy center in accordance with physicians orders,recognized nursing techniques, legal aspects of current nursepractice in the State of Georgia and the Centers policies andprocedures. Is responsible for planning, executing and evaluatingthe nursing care given to patients. Will have contact with thepatient in each phase of his experience. Must be self-directed andable to work independently with minimal supervision. Maybe requiredto travel to a sister center.
REPORTS TO
Registered Nurse Manager(RN)Qualifications Current State license to practice as a Registered Nurse(RN). Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Experience in GI endoscopy preferred. Membership in GI specialty or other local, state, or nationalprofessional societies encouraged. Maintains Basic Cardiac Life Support certification. ACLScertification is recommended, but optional. Completion of Airway Management Module is required prior toadministering IV conscious sedation. Score of 100% on conscioussedation module post-test.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL/ENVIRONMENTALDEMANDSAbility to work under stress. Moderate periods of sittingand computer use. Good visual acuity. Ability to stoop, kneel,crouch and/or crawl. Ability to reach, grasp, use fine fingermovement and feel sensation to discern temperature, texture, size,and shape. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods oftime, lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 25 pounds.
