Role:
Job Summary The role of the Nurse Informaticist is to facilitate the integration of clinical practice with data and information systems to improve the quality of patient care. This role is responsible for working collaboratively with HP2/CIN administration, information technology, and clinical care teams by participating in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of assigned clinical information systems that support population health initiatives. The Nurse Informaticist oversees end user optimization and efficiency, embeds evidence based content, and uses data analytic models to ensure patient outcomes and improve clinical performance. This role will be responsible for educating users about product functionality, facilitate assessments of current practice and translation of end user needs into the optimal configuration and build of applications that support clinical care across the healthcare system. Minimum Job Qualifications Licensure or other certifications: Current Georgia RN License. Certification in Nursing Informatics .

Bachelor’s Degree Minimum Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing clinical practice or information technology experience is required.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities Act as a translator, working closely with Information Systems to ensure that clinical user requests are documented, tested and implemented according to specification Documents workflow processes, execute gap analysis, and provide leadership and guidance to define system and process requirements that will optimize clinical workflow and patient care as it relates to the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and technology solutions. Systematically evaluate workflows to examine current practice, and the potential impact of an informatics solution, and utilize the SBAR process to plan recommendations for informatics solutions. Design and develop clinical analytics by understanding the data elements that are necessary to calculate performance defined by payer contracts and be able to identify where the data elements are documented in the electronic health record. Create necessary data mapping in order to have data elements automatically populate the analytics calculation for presentation in a dashboard to the end user/stakeholder. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to design, develop and assess methods to collect, share, standardize and integrate health data and the information systems used to manage it. Develop care management workflows that utilize provider/patient attribution, risk scoring, clinical quality metric dashboards, care gaps, outreach encounter documentation, and clinical decision support tools. Develop workflows that utilize the cost and utilization dashboards as well as customized reports. Provide critical analysis and evaluation of applications and recommend revisions to clinical systems, processes, and workflow to ensure achievement of positive patient outcomes. Participate in reviews of requests for changes, enhancements, additions to ensure feasibility, quality and appropriateness, Determine appropriate solution for modification. Maintains understanding and working knowledge of current information systems, associated workflows and relationship to other systems within the organization. Takes initiative to maintain detailed functional knowledge of application modules including integration points with other modules and technical implications, and to learn new skills. Participate in department and NGHS teams, committees, projects and initiatives as appropriate to support achievement of department and organizational goals. Shall synthesize data, information, and knowledge and communicate recommendations to enhance workflows and effect positive change. Shall lead the production and distribution of communications related to technology changes through active internal networking, announcements and other technology based mechanisms. Routinely conduct intentional clinical rounding to gain overall knowledge of facility specific workflow, patient throughput, and challenges with technology solutions, as deemed necessary. Shall monitor outcomes and evaluate user adoption of current and newly implemented information technology and functionality.
