And you’ll get to practice your passion in a non-profit, mission-driven organization that’s known for the highest level of care in our communities Responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, developing, and supporting the clinical services of assigned skilled nursing centers to provide appropriate care in accordance with current guidelines and regulations that govern long term care facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, organizes, implements, evaluates, and directs the nursing services programs and activities of assigned skilled nursing centers, in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care center. Makes regular center visits and as needed or requested by the Division Vice President for Skilled Nursing Services to assess that skilled nursing center personnel are performing work assignments in accordance with guidelines and acceptable standards of practice. Provides the skilled nursing center Administrator, Division Vice President for Skilled Nursing Services, and/or Senior Vice President of Clinical Practice for Skilled Nursing Services with information relative to the nursing needs of the patients and nursing services’ ability to meet those needs. Periodically reviews and assesses clinical documentation for quality, content and adherence to guidelines. Provides feedback for correction and/or improvement. Assists with developing, implementing, maintaining and periodically reviewing and updating written procedural guidelines that govern day-to-day functions in the nursing departments. Interpret the skilled nursing center procedural guidelines to Administrators, Directors of Nursing, other nursing center staff and government agencies, etc. as necessary. Ensures coordination of nursing services with other patient services to provide for the continuity of the patient’s regime of care. Participates in skilled nursing center surveys (state & federal agency surveys, JCAHO, etc.) to provide support to the skilled nursing center leadership. Provides oversight and assistance with the development of correction action plans for identified deficiencies and oversight to ensure correction and implementation of the written plan. Provides oversight and assistance to center leadership related to reportable events, and ensures appropriate documented responses to state/external agencies are submitted timely. Maintains internal tracking systems for regulatory and adverse events. Assists the Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement committee in implementing established guidelines, and developing/implementing appropriate plans to correct identified areas for improvement. Schedules and performs clinical systems reviews to ensure ongoing compliance to established guidelines and provide feedback to center and regional leadership regarding areas of focus and recommendations for improvement. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure a comprehensive approach for skilled nursing center support. Ensures communication with the Division Vice President for Skilled Nursing Services and the Senior Vice President of Clinical Practice for Skilled Nursing Services to inform and be informed of organizational changes, center/regional concerns, and overall quality of assigned skilled nursing centers. Assists with the development, planning and conducting of education that supports the continued learning and development of the center nursing personnel. Provides formal and informal leadership training to the Director of Nursing Services and other nurse leader positions in the skilled nursing center that supports a successful nursing department. Recommends to the skilled nursing center Administrator and/or Division Vice President for Skilled Nursing Services equipment and supply needs for patient care. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs designed to maintain knowledge of current practices in the field of expertise, and support licensure and certification status. Honors patients’ rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, and respect. Follows established safety regulations when performing job tasks to include fire protection/prevention, infection prevention, and occupational hazards. Report any exposures as required. Complies with the organization’s compliance, privacy and security programs. Promotes the image and reputation of the System by exhibiting servant leadership and providing direct and open lines of communication. Contributes to the work of committees, workgroups, project management, and other collaborative efforts of the System. Performs other duties as necessary to ensure the success of the System.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Demonstrated competence in the performance of nursing leadership and consulting. Extensive knowledge of the regulations and survey process governing long -term care. Comfort with technology in order to support and use electronic health records. Ability to teach and present information in a positive manner to audiences of varying educational background. Communicates well with other associates, patients, family members, internal and external partners, providing warm and friendly greeting and an approachable attitude.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Registered Nurse licensure in Georgia or compact state; Minimum three years of experience as a Director of Nursing or

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram format. The ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
