!! Join our Emergency Department as a Nurse Apprentice and gain experience while in school! This position is for current nursing students enrolled in a ADN or BSN program with at LEAST Fundamentals of Nursing completed. Shift will be 7pm to 7am As a Nurse Apprentice you will: Serves as a multi-functional member of the patient care team under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). Support the RN staff through regularly organizing and facilitating basic patient care activities, unit secretary functions, performing 12 lead EKG’s, and functioning as a Monitor Tech. This position can also perform basic nursing tasks as described below. Accurately and promptly communicate with the nursing staff, patient, family, and patient care team as required.
Qualifications Qualifications:
High School Graduate or Equivalent, REQUIRED
Current Enrollment and good standing in an accredited school of nursing, with successful completion of Fundamentals of Nursing, REQUIRED
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
