NurseJob Summary :

The ER Nurse is a critical member of the healthcareteam responsible for providing high-quality, urgent medical care topatients in the emergency department (ED). They assess, monitor,and treat patients with acute medical conditions and injuries,ensuring prompt and effective care in a fast-paced andhigh-pressure environment. The ER Nurse works closely with doctors,specialists, and other healthcare staff to deliver patient-centeredcare while maintaining safety, efficiency, and compassion. Triagepatients based on the severity of their condition and prioritizecare accordingly. Perform thorough physical assessments and obtaindetailed medical histories from patients.

Emergency Care andTreatment :

Administer prescribed medications, treatments, andinterventions as directed by the physician. Provide wound care,assist with procedures, and manage trauma or critical carepatients. Prepare patients for diagnostic tests, surgeries, orother procedures as required. Ensure proper documentation of alltreatments, medications, and patient interactions in the electronicmedical record (EMR). Work in collaboration with physicians, nursepractitioners, paramedics, and other healthcare professionals toprovide coordinated care. Assist with educating patients onfollow-up care, preventive measures, and any necessary lifestyleadjustments. Respond to medical emergencies quickly andeffectively, providing advanced life support (ALS) when needed.

Take swift action in the event of cardiac arrest, trauma, or otherurgent health conditions. Advocate for patients by ensuring theyreceive timely and appropriate care. Adhere to all hospital anddepartment policies, protocols, and standards of care. Ensure thatall equipment is properly sterilized and maintained. Followinfection control guidelines to reduce the risk ofhospital-acquired infections. Stay updated with the latest trends,guidelines, and best practices in emergency nursing care.

Participate in continuing education programs, workshops, and othertraining to maintain certifications and expand clinical knowledge.

Mentor and guide new nurses and students within the department.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree inNursing (ADN) required. Current state RN license in good standing.

Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support(PALS) certifications preferred. Proficient in using medicalequipment, including monitors, defibrillators, and IV pumps. Workin a high-pressure, fast-paced environment with potential exposureto infectious diseases, trauma, and other health hazards. Abilityto work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
