RequiredQualifications:

One year of recent experience as an ICU RN Valid RNlicense in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC)and ACLS (AHA/ARC) certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification TNCC, NIHSScertification Other certifications or licenses may be required forthis position

Summary:

The ICU Registered Nurse is responsible forproviding comprehensive, critical care to patients in the intensivecare unit. This role encompasses assessing and monitoringcritically ill patients, operating life-support equipment,administering advanced treatments, and collaborating withmultidisciplinary healthcare teams. The position requires strongcritical care skills, advanced clinical judgment, excellentcommunication, and a commitment to maintaining the higheststandards of patient safety and professional ethics in high-acuitysettings.

Essential Work Functions:

Assess and monitor criticallyill patients, recognizing and responding to subtle changes inpatient condition Administer complex medications and treatments inaccordance with approved critical care nursing techniques Operateand manage advanced life support equipment Ensure patient safetyand comfort in high-acuity ICU environments, addressing physicaland emotional needs Record significant conditions, reactions, andinterventions, notifying the appropriate provider of changes inpatient status Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamicmonitoring, including arterial lines, central venous pressure, andpulmonary artery catheters Accurately document all assessments,interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in atimely manner to ensure continuity of care and compliance withregulatory standards Provide education to patients and familiesregarding the ICU environment, treatments, and recoveryexpectations Communicate closely with interdisciplinary healthcareteams to optimize patient care Maintain proficiency in criticalcare procedures and technologies through ongoing education andtraining Adhere to strict infection control protocols to protectimmunocompromised patients and reduce risks Engage in qualityimprovement initiatives to enhance ICU patient outcomes andoperational efficiency Perform other duties as assigned withinscope Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate inthe English language is required Ability to read/comprehend writteninstructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PCskills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bendingInterpersonal Skills
  • To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
  • Ability tograsp, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling and able to move aboutwhen assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
