Nurse 3.0 3.0 out of 5 stars LaGrange, GA Nurse (Contract Position) Minimum requirements: Registered Nurse within the scope of O.C.GA Practice Acts Preferred Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in mental health Primary job responsibilities are: Provide nursing assessment to observe, monitor, educate and care for the physical, nutritional and psychological issues, problems or crises manifested in the course of the clients’ treatment. Educating the client about medical, nutritional and other health issues related to the individual’s mental health or substance related issues. Assess and monitor client’s medical and other health issues that are either directly related to the mental health or substance related disorder, or to the treatment of the disorder. Educating the client’s family/caregiver about medical, nutritional and other health issues related to the individual’s mental health or substance related issues. Educating the client’s family/caregiver on medications and potential medication side effects. Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients. Provide training for self-administration of medication. Maintain and utilize knowledge and skills regarding current research trends in best/evidence-based practices for psychiatric nursing and medication management. Stay updated on all contracting and accrediting requirements. Share information with the treatment team and be considered a part of the treatment team. Provide the number of billable hours assigned to the position. Ensure documentation meets requirements of Medicaid, DBHDD, and other CMO audits. Utilize agency’s designated client services software for entering service notes and submitting billables in required timeframes.
