Description
JOB SUMMARY
Provides and coordinates direct care to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) utilizing the nursing process. Is responsible for appropriately managing care of assigned patients who present with a life-threatening illness and/or disease. Demonstrates professional growth and development. Demonstrates a commitment to service, Hamilton’s mission, values, and professionalism. Qualifications
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Associate degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program as evidenced by primary source of verification. BSN or MSN preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Current Georgia RN or a multi-state license meeting eNLC criteria professional licensure or will obtain prior to beginning work as a RN. BLS required. ACLS and CCRN preferred
Experience:
Previous experience required. Critical Care Course/Internship preferred
Skills:
Nursing skills as defined in the Law Governing the Practice of Nursing in Georgia. Additionally, proficient in special skills as demonstrated through completion of critical care skills check-off.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Works in typical acute health care setting with pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients experiencing a wide range of medical and/or surgical problems. Required to work flexible schedule including weekends. Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions. Requires exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
