Treatment Nurse 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars 2575 Airline Drive, Bossier City, LA 71111 Job Summary Responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring residents with wounds, often including pressure injuries, surgical wounds, and diabetic foot ulcers.
Essential Functions Wound Assessment:
Evaluate the stage, size, and type of wounds, as well as the underlying cause and patient’s overall condition. Ensure rooms are kept clean and sterile.
Treatment Planning:
Develop and implement individualized wound care plans, selecting appropriate dressings, debridement techniques, and other interventions.
Wound Care Procedures:
Perform wound cleaning, debridement, dressing changes, and other procedures as needed, following established protocols.
Monitoring and Documentation:
Track wound healing progress, document interventions and patient responses, and update care plans accordingly.
Education and Support:
Educate residents and caregivers on wound care best practices, infection prevention, and the importance of self-care.
Collaboration:
Work closely with physicians, other nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care practices and outcomes.
Supply Management:
Ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for wound care procedures.
Communication:
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals about wound care progress and any concerns.
Compliance:
