Job Description:

This job is considered a leader in the provision of patient careutilizing the Nursing Process within the framework of the NursePractice Act, ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards ofPractice. The RN effectively delegates, directs and assistslicensed and ancillary team members; assumes accountability forquality patient outcomes; exhibits sensitivity to cultural, ethnicand religious diversity in all interactions; maintains involvementin activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and thedepartments strategic goals and objectives and demonstratesprofessional responsibility and accountability for his/her ownpractice and supports Ochsners philosophy of nursing.

• Registered Nurse DiplomaPreferred
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in NursingWork ExperienceRequired

CertificationsRequired

• Current RN License in the state ofpractice.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from theAmerican Heart Association.

Preferred

• Certification in clinicalspecialty areaKnowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)Must havecomputer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrievalof patient information.
