RequiredQualifications:

One year of recent experience as an RN, including aminimum of six months in a Hospice Setting as an RN Valid RNlicense in compliance with state regulations BLS certification(AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

Other certifications andlicenses may be required for this position

Summary:

A HospiceRegistered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, end-of-life care topatients in their homes or hospice settings, focusing on comfort,pain management, and emotional support. Hospice RNs assess patientneeds, coordinate care plans, and educate families to ensurepatients experience dignity and peace in their final stages. Theycollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic carewhile upholding hospice philosophy and regulatory standards.

Essential Work Functions:

Assess patient needs and developindividualized hospice care plans in collaboration with physiciansand care teams Administer pain management interventions,medications, and treatments to ensure patient comfort Educate andsupport families and caregivers, helping them understand symptommanagement and end-of-life care Monitor changes in patientcondition, adjusting interventions to maintain quality of lifeCoordinate care with hospice physicians, social workers, chaplains,and other team members to provide holistic support Document allcare provided, symptom changes, and family interactions accuratelyand in compliance with hospice regulations Ensure adherence tohospice best practices, safety protocols, and regulatoryrequirements Offer emotional and psychological support to bothpatients and their loved ones during the end-of-life journeyCommunicate regularly with the hospice care team to ensurecontinuous, compassionate care Strong ability to complete chartingand documentation requirements while meeting visit and productivitygoals Adhere to infection control, safety, and healthcareregulations Perform other duties as assigned within the scope ofpractice

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, serviceexcellence and good interpersonal communication skills The abilityto read, write, & communicate in the English language is requiredAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities

• Remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment(50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
• Towork effectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills
• Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
• Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public,customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
