Tallo's Job Summary: The RN-Psychiatric provides direct patient care, including medication administration and clinical treatments. They must have critical thinking skills and be able to work independently in a stressful environment. A minimum of an Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, or RN Diploma is required, along with a current TN or Multi-State RN licensure. Experience with psychiatric/behavioral patients is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are also necessary.

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing processin accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to:
Director Nursing – Geri Psych Performs plan of care intervention, including medicationadministration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as wellas other medical care treatment. Documents patient care given. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with performing activities of daily living,including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, andambulation. Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patientcare, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs. Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and providespatient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition,and circumstances. Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being ofthe patient. Handle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every2 years.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required. Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and theability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in astressful environment and take appropriate action.
Required Skills American Heart Association or American Red CrossCertifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or mustbe obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced CardiovascularLife Support (ACLS) required within 12 months of employment.
