- Medical-Surgical coordinates total nursing care forpatients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as apatient advocate and works as part of a team with ancillary andnon-nursing departments. Provides direct patient care to patientsusing the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope andstandards of practice.
