Facility in Lafayette, IN Job Details FusionMedical Staffing is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health RN for a 13week travel assignment in Lafayette, IN. RequiredQualifications:

One year of recent experience as a behavioral health RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC)

Certification Preferred Qualifications:

ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC) CPI Certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for thisposition

Summary:

Behavioral Health nurses assess, diagnose, andaddress the mental health needs of individuals, families, andcommunities. They work with individuals, families, groups, andcommunities to develop a nursing diagnosis and plan of care. Theycollaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and continuously evaluateoutcomes to provide compassionate, evidence-based care in mentalhealth settings.

Essential Work Functions:

Perform comprehensive mental health assessments and documentfindings using evidence-based tools Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians,therapists, social workers, and case managers, to developpatient-centered care plans Provides and coordinates patient care with other health teammembers Monitors patients’ responses to interventions and reportsoutcomes and adjusting care plans as needed Administers medications as ordered with appropriatedocumentation educating patients about their use, side effects, andadherence Support patients during medical procedures relevant to mentalhealth care, such as ECT or crisis interventions, and monitor theirresponses Performs other duties as assigned within scope of practice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection controlguidelines, and regulatory standards Advocates for patients’ needs and rights, ensuring culturallysensitive and ethical care delivery Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhancepsychiatric nursing practice Educate patients and families about mental health conditions,coping strategies, and available resources Complete accurate, timely documentation to support legal,clinical, and operational requirements

Required Essential Skills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonalcommunication skills The ability to read, write, & communicate in the Englishlanguage is required Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbalinstructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in a stationary position, moveabout, move equipment (50-100lbs), pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
  • To work effectively with a variety ofpersonnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positiveattitude and professionalism Technical/Motor Skills
  • Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
  • Must be able to cope with frequentcontact with the general public, customers, and meeting deadlinesunder pressure.
