This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care usingthe nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act,ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectivelydelegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members;assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibitssensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in allinteractions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward theachievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals andobjectives and demonstrates professional responsibility andaccountability for his/her own practice and supports the company’sphilosophy of nursing.

EducationRequired•Registered nursediploma.

Preferred•Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.

WorkExperienceRequired•None.

CertificationsRequired•Currentregistered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.

Current BasicLife Support (BLS) certification from the American HeartAssociation.

Preferred•Certification in clinical specialtyarea.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications. Effective verbal and written communication skills and abilityto present information clearly and professionally. Strong interpersonal skills. Good organizational and time management skills and ability tobe self-directed. Ability to demonstrate good judgement. Job Duties Effectively uses the nursing process in the delivery of patientcare. Assesses learning needs and implements teaching strategiesappropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and othergroups or disciplines. Communicates, delegates, and manages nursing team resources(human and fiscal) properly and serves as a leader and partner onthe interdisciplinary team. Uses data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promotechange in order to achieve optimal outcomes. Embraces concepts and behaviors that enhance customersatisfaction and employee morale and improvement in the professionof nursing. Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, includingbut not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction tothe patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to beperformed, requesting permissions and communication style. Performs other related duties as required.
