Job Description:

This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care usingthe nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act,ANA Code for Nurses and Scope & Standards of Practice. Effectivelydelegates, directs and assists licensed and ancillary team members;assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibitssensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in allinteractions; maintains involvement in activities aimed toward theachievement of unit and the departments strategic goals andobjectives and demonstrates professional responsibility andaccountability for his/her own practice and supports the company’sphilosophy of nursing.

EducationRequired•Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Preferred•Bachelorsdegree in nursing.

Work ExperienceRequired•None.

CertificationsRequired•Current registered nurse (RN) licensein state of practice.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationfrom the American Heart Association.

Preferred•Certification inclinical specialty area.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities(KSAs)Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-basedapplications.

Effective verbal and written communication skills andability to present information clearly and professionally tovarying levels of individuals throughout the patient careprocess.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Because the incumbent workswithin a healthcare setting, there may be occupational risk forexposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within theenvironment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation,dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal ofcontaminated waste. The risk level of exposure may increasedepending on the essential job duties of the role.
