Description:
Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Reports to:
Director Nursing – Geri Psych Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
DragEditDeleteDocuments patient care given.
DragEditDeleteMonitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
DragEditDeleteAssists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
DragEditDeleteCollaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
DragEditDeleteEvaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
DragEditDeleteWorks as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
DragEditDeleteHandle with Care participation annually or CPI participation every 2 years.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma required.
DragEditDelete Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
DragEditDelete Required Skills American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) required upon hire or must be obtained within 90 days of employment, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 12 months of employment.
DragEditDelete Required Skills License:
Current TN or Multi-State RN licensureDragEditDelete Minimum Work Experience Six months to one year experience with psychiatric/behavioral patients
