ER Nurse Tech – PRN 3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 1645 Lutcher Avenue, Lutcher, LA 70071 The Emergency Room (ER) Technician provides critical support to medical staff in a fast-paced emergency department setting. Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, performing vital signs monitoring, collecting specimens, preparing equipment, and ensuring a clean and safe environment. The ER Technician works closely with nurses and physicians to ensure efficient and timely patient treatment. Strong communication, multitasking, and a calm demeanor under pressure are essential for success in this role.
Job Duties:
Follows instructions issued by the Emergency Department (ED) Doctor and ED Nurses. Independently performs assigned duties. Follows universal precautions on all patients. Utilizes and understands sterile technique. Notify ED physician or ED Nurse of signs and symptoms that require immediate intervention or changes in vital signs. Maintains a record of observations and care given. Documents information clearly and completely utilizing the Emergency Medical Record (EMR). Assures that the ED unit is adequately stocked with supplies needed by the ED unit. Assures that the charges are recorded promptly and accurately. Recognize age level standards of care and act accordingly. Maintains safety of patients of all ages. Maintains privacy for all patients. Keep workplace clean. Dispose and sanitize ER equipment after use and make sure that all rooms in the ER are patient ready. Demonstrates the ability to multitask and prioritize the work to meet the needs of the department within the established time frame while experiencing frequent interruptions. Assist the ED physicians with physical exams and lacerations. Obtain and label specimens, perform wound care and documents all procedures in the EMR. Assist in code situations. High school diploma Completed EMR (Emergency Medical Responder) course and has become a licensed EMS practitioner Current EMT Currently enrolled in medical curriculum Current BLS certification Physical and emotional stamina
