Job Description
Assistant Professor of Nursing –
Full Time Requirements:
Master’s degree in nursing preferred, BSN or matriculation in a nursing master’s degree program required. Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse License (in good standing) and a minimum of 2 years full-time nursing experience (or its equivalent) within the past 5 years. Evidence of clinical competence in the area of clinical instruction. Commitment to support student-centered, outcomes-based education. Ability to incorporate multiple instructional strategies and integrate computer technology with instruction. Recent background appropriate to teach Acute Medical/Surgical Nursing, Fundamentals of Nursing, Pediatrics/Maternity/Child Health, and Mental Health. Applicants should be proven team-players with an ongoing commitment to personal and professional development. Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated, excellent teaching skills including teaching using interactive and varied pedagogical strategies, and experience with high fidelity simulation. Teaching experience in higher education, preferably at a community college.
Adjunct Faculty:
Nursing – Fall 2025 Semester Berkshire Community College is searching for adjunct faculty to teach in clinical during the day, or evening in the Division of Nursing.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing; For Practical Nurse faculty, a baccalaureate degree in nursing is required and a graduate degree is preferred. Must have 2 years of full-time experience, or its equivalent within the last 5 years. For the Associates Degree in Nursing Program, a graduate degree in nursing is required or applicant may be matriculating in a graduate program with an expected graduation date within five years of appointment. ADN applicants must possess a minimum of five years full-time nursing experience, or its equivalent, within the last 8 years. All faculty must maintain expertise appropriate to responsibilities; evidence of clinical competence in area of clinical instruction; commitment to support student centered, outcomes-based education. Must also possess the ability to incorporate multiple instructional strategies, including simulation, and integrate computer technology common in nursing practice and education. Applicant must be able to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body. Background appropriate to teach Fundamentals of Nursing, Acute Medical/Surgical Nursing, and Gerontological Nursing. Dem Demonstrated excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
