Job Description
The Pediatric Psychiatric Provider will be consulted by the PCP torender an opinion and provide a brief consultation prior to returningcare back to the PCP. The pediatric Psychiatric Provider will conductthorough psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribemedication, and evaluate results. Our expectation is that this positionwill see new patient evaluations, and follow ups, that meet budgetedproductivity expectations. This role will support CHP’s mission,vision, and values and will adhere to compliance protocols as well asCHP’s policies and procedures.

Pediactric Nurse PractitionerEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform physical exams andpatient observations using a biopsychosocial model.
- Makesrecommendations for ongoing psychosocial or medical treatment plans andmonitors and evaluates treatment results.
- Evaluates patients byinterviewing patient, family, and other persons; conducting mentalstatus examinations; observing behaviors; reviewing medical history andrelated documents; and sending a request to the PCP if laboratory testsare needed and evaluating results.
- Maintains interdisciplinaryapproach through consulting and collaborating with primary carephysicians, mental health therapists, nurses, and other health careproviders.
- Maintains medical records by documenting symptoms,medications, and treatment events and completed notes and billing sameday as the visit.
- Detect changes in patients’ health and modifytreatment plans, as needed.
- Discusses progress towards goals with PCPsand patients.

Essential Skills andQualifications:
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursingprogram.
- ANCC board certified Psychiatric Mental Health NP orPsychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist in Massachusetts
- Valid MA APRNstate license with independent prescriptive practice.
- Valid DEAcertificate and MCSR certificate.
- 2 years’ experience workingfull-time as a psychiatric NP in child psychiatry.
- Knowledge ofcomputer-based data management programs and information systems, as wellas medical records and point-of-interview technology.
- Excellent verbaland written communication skills.
