We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our caring,compassionate team. The RN’s primary purpose is to provide qualitynursing care to residents, utilizing the nursing process of assessment,planning intervention, implementation, and evaluation, while maintainingall standards of professional nursing.

Essential JobFunctions:

• Use the nursingprocess by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning,implementation, and evaluation of the patient’s care, as evidenced byclient/staff observation
• Assess the patient: collect and document thepatient’s current health status and medical history. Complete and/orreview Admission Data Record, as defined by policy. Make accurate andongoing assessment of patient’s status and respond appropriately

• Plan/implement:

  set priorities for nursing action in a logical sequenceaccording to patient’s needs and formulate a plan of care by theappropriate selection of Nurse Practice Standards

• Evaluate:

  performongoing assessment and revise plan of care based on new data andpatient’s condition

• Document accurate and ongoing assessment ofpatient status: Document patient care, including nursing intervention,patient response to care provided, patient needs, problems,capabilities, limitations, and progress toward goals
• Communicate withthe physician regarding patients’ needs, nursing assessments, andrecommendations on a daily basis and as needed
• Collaborate with othernurses and health team members to ensure the patient’s wellbeing, asevidenced by staff/client feedback.
• Teach patient/significant otherappropriate health information in a timely manner and share writteninformational material, as applicable.
• Perform direct patient care,using established procedures, policies, and standards
• Prepare andadminister medications and IVs according to policy and procedure.
• Observe and document patients’ responses to pertinent medications.
• Demonstrate ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise,and professional manner.
• Admit, transfer, and discharge residents asrequired.
• Perform administrative duties such as completing medicalforms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary.
• Completeand file required record keeping forms/charts upon the resident’sadmission, transfer, and or discharge.
• Receive phone orders fromphysicians and record on the Physician’s Order Form.
• Chart allreports of accidents/incidents involving residents. Follow establishedprocedures.
• Verify the identity of each resident before administeringmedication/treatment.
• Ensure adequate medications, supplies, andequipment are available. Report needs to DON.
• Ensure narcotic recordsare accurate for your shift.
• Notify DON of all drug and narcoticdiscrepancies.
• Give a thorough, concise report at change of shift.

Communicate pertinent information to the appropriate person in a timelymanner.

• Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with safetyand infection control policies and procedures, including thorough handwashing, use of disposable gloves where indicated and proper disposal ofsoiled materials.
• Follow established policies concerning exposure toblood/body fluids.
• Demonstrate correct and safe technique in the useof equipment, according to specific product information/instructions.
• Attend and participate in mandatory, and scheduled training andeducational classes to maintain current certification as a licensednurse.
