InfectionControl Nurse Qualifications:
  • Current licensure as a RegisteredNurse
  • RN in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Certification inInfection Control and Epidemiology or Certification of the completion ofthe “Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course” by CDC.
  • One (1) year of experience as a supervisor/manager in long term care.
  • Three (3) years of Long-Term Care experience.
  • Expertise in DPHregulation, along with excellent communication skills.

Infection Control Nurse Job Summary:
  • Plans, implements, directs, andevaluates the education program based on resident and staff needs,regulations.
  • Coordinates an effective general orientation program fornew staff and plan other programs as needed.
  • Plans and publishes amonthly in-service calendar for all mandatory in-service stafftrainings.
  • Develops, implements and evaluates the Mt. Carmel CareCenter infection prevention program.
  • Develops an annual surveillanceplan based on the population served, services provided, and analysis ofthe surveillance data.
  • Arranges opportunities for meaningful educationprograms and staff trainings during the year.
  • Conducts an annualcompetency skills evaluation of nurses in preparation for theirperformance evaluation.
  • Acts as the liaison between the nursinginstructors and students affiliating at the facility.
  • Compilesnecessary reports for DPH and other regulatory agencies as required. Weaim to create a supportive workplace where you are valued, compensatedfairly and provided the tools to thrive!
