Job Description
Director of Health Services and Registered School Nurse
Bishop Fenwick High School is looking for a half-time (job share) or full-time, trained, and skilled Director of Health Services and Registered Nurse. Bishop Fenwick is a Catholic, co-educational, college prep school providing education for life. Overview
The Director of Health Services and Registered Nurse reports directly to the Principal and the President. The Director works closely with the School and College Counseling Team, the Athletics Office, and the Administration. The Director works a 10-month calendar. This is a half-time, job-share position. This could also be a full-time position, depending on the candidate.

Specifically, the Director will provide skilled nursing care, monitor and administer medications, and collaborate effectively and intentionally with students, families, faculty, staff, and health care professionals to ensure the optimal health and wellness of our students.
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care and first aid to students with acute and chronic health conditions, injuries, and illnesses
- Administer medications and treatments to students according to physician orders and school policies and procedures
- Conduct health assessments and develop individualized health care plans for students
- Monitor students with special health care needs, including students with diabetes, asthma, allergies, and other medical conditions
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide immediate intervention and assistance as needed
- Collaborate with school personnel, parents, and healthcare providers to develop and implement accommodations and modifications to support students’ health and educational needs
- Educate students, families, faculty, and staff regarding health promotion, disease prevention, and safety practices
- Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and other school-related meetings as needed, particularly with School/College Counselors and Deans
- Stay informed regarding current health care trends, best practices, and evidence-based interventions in school nursing
- Adhere to professional standards of practice, code of ethics, and legal regulations governing nursing practice in the school setting
Qualifications
As the point person for the physical health and wellness needs of students, the candidate will have: - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts
- Certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED
- Minimum of two years of experience working as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
- Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing school health services
- Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to promoting health and wellness and advocating for the needs of students
